Madrid Plataforma Logística Annual General Meeting

30 / 四月 / 2008

Last Wednesday April 30, the Madrid Plataforma Logística Association organised its Annual General Meeting at the Hotel Villarreal in Madrid, attended by 70 of Madrid Plataforma Logística’s 80 members.

The meeting was chaired by Mr. Aurelio García de Sola, Managing Director of IMADE, on behalf of and representing Mr. Fernando Merry del Val, Councillor for Economy and Consumption and Chair of Madrid Plataforma Logística.

Mr. Aurelio García de Sola opened the AGM with welcoming words for the new associates, noting the excellent development of the Association, which has 80 members at present.

The first agreement endorsed at the AGM was the unanimous authorisation of the 2007 annual accounts, which had been audited by the company BDO Audiberia. Accounts show a 48% increase of the business turnover as a result of the incorporation of 21 new associates in 2007.

The attendants also endorsed the 2007 Activity Report, which focused on the three basic lines Madrid Plataforma Logística is devoted to:

  • The Infrastructure Master Plan, which will continue after the completion of the viability, technical and legal analyses, and with the regulation of the freight railway line underway.
  • The development of the Association’s international strategy, promoting the participation of members in different national and international trade fairs.
  • The creation of the Technological Innovation Centre for Logistics and Transport (CITET), located in Torrejón de Ardoz.

Secondly, the AGM unanimously agreed upon the management of the Board of Directors throughout 2007 and endorsed the maintenance of annual membership fees, in order to undertake the actions planned in the 2008 Activity Plan.

The budget for 2008 endorsed at the meeting envisages an expected income of 1.2 million euros, based on the goal of reaching 106 members in 2008.

As in previous years, the Expenses Budget was broken down into five chapters, corresponding to Fairs and Events (25.8%), service contracting (38.71%), Trade, Marketing and Advertising (22.11%), staff (9.17%) and current expenses (4.20%).

The 2008 Annual Activity Programme was endorsed, highlighting the participation and sponsorship of the Logistics and Transports Fair in Madrid, which will be staged in IFEMA next November 10-12, and the participation in major trade fairs in Shanghai and Abu Dhabi.
