Madrid Plataforma Logística took part in TRANSPORT LOGISTIC CHINA for the second time. The biennial fair staged its 3rd edition from June 17 to 19 in the city of Shanghai.
The third edition of the Transport Logistic China fair established the event as a reference point not only for China but also for most of the Asia-Pacific region. Given the importance of exports in South East Asia, port exhibitors from all over the world, shipping companies, international logistic operators and air cargo companies consider their presence at the fair of major relevance. This edition gathered 420 exhibitors (compared to the 302 of 2006) from 48 countries (33 in 2006). The fair established itself as the main entrepreneurial meeting point for all sectors in the transport and logistics industry.
As occurred the first time, during its second participation at the fair, MPL was sited in the Official Spanish Pavilion, coordinated by ICEX. Alongside MPL, other players with individual spaces were Azkar, Iberia Cargo, Puerto de Castellón, Puerto de Ferrol, Terminal Polivalente de Ferrol and Uniport Bilbao, as regards MPL partners. IMADE, MSC and Promomadrid also attended the fair, within the space of the Association.
Taking part in the Transport Logistic China fair falls within a strategy designed by Madrid Plataforma Logística’s Institutional Relations Work Group, aiming to attract more traffic, business and activities to the Iberian Peninsula and to the Region of Madrid. The Mediterranean-South-East Asia Axis is set out to be one of the main Axes for international goods transport in future years, and consequently MPL has recently been undertaking important actions in this sense.
Several work meetings were held in the framework of the Fair to expound the project MPL presents and to set up possible collaborations.
Internationally, contacts were made with several institutions and companies: Hellman Internacional, Cluster of the Veneto Region, Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, Dubai Logistics City, with a view to strengthening institutional and commercial relationships with Madrid Plataforma Logística and its associates.
